A popular British actor is set to star as Darth Vader in a new film, titled “Darth Starkiller,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie will be written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, with a script by Christopher McQuarrie, and stars Harry Styles and Emilia Clarke as the Star Wars character.
Styles was last seen in the 2014 film “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
The new film will be released in 2019.
“Darkside” star Ian McShane will also appear in the film, the report said.
The film is being written by McQuartries co-writer Andrew Kosove and is being produced by Markus and McFeely.
It is being directed by Peter Landesman.
“It’s a very big, ambitious project and we’re excited to work with Christopher Markus on it,” Landesmann told the Hollywood Reporter in an interview.
The director previously worked on “The Avengers,” and Markus and McQuarry had worked on a “Dark Knight Rises” movie.
The “Dogs of War” director also wrote and directed the “Iron Man” sequel, which stars Chris Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hardy.
“The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies” director Peter Jackson will direct.
“I’m looking forward to making this one, because it’s really going to be the biggest thing I’ve ever done,” Jackson said in an April 2017 interview.
“There’s no going back.
There’s no one left to tell me what to do.
This is my big thing, it’s my career.
And now I can tell you what to make.”
The “Star Wars” franchise has grossed more than $2 billion worldwide, and the last film, “The Empire Strikes Back,” was released in 1977.
