A film by the Brooklyn-based Chinese-Japanese director Juji Jitsu that was directed by his mentor Jigme Zhang has been nominated for the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, according to Variety.
The film, called “The Life of a Boy,” stars Wu Yun as a boy who falls in love with an actress, and who falls for a woman who has a mysterious past.
The film, which is based on a true story, will screen at Cannes on February 23.
It is the first film nominated for a prestigious international festival and will be released on March 4.
The winner will be announced on Friday, Variety reported.
